The outfit I wore today was soooo pretty, if I do say so myself. Kind of schoolmarm with an edge. It was comfortable too, which is good, because I had a long day. Looking at an even longer one tomorrow, and I suspect I’ll be going with some kind of sneakers and a sweater (with some jeans in between of course) option.
I also need to try to take some pictures of the foliage tomorrow. In spite of how cold it’s getting, the leaves are just GORGEOUS. I drove past a laborer for one of the landscaping companies that works for one of the buildings near mine on my way back from picking up lunch today. He had stopped working and was taking a picture of some of the trees with his cell phone. The colors are THAT amazing. I thought that was really a cool moment.

Oh yeah, so here’s what I wore today: a nice, soft sweater. Boots, with some cozy long socks (not pictured). LORAC lip polish, which I love love love. My most comfortable pair of bootcut jeans.
I saw a woman in the hallway at work wearing flip-flops. FLIP-FLOPS. It barely reached 60 today, in fact, it was mostly in the 50s, and it was cloudy, and kind of rainy and gross. What the hell is up with people who wear flip-flops when it’s cold outside? And, I might mention, cold in the building too – it’s ALWAYS cold in our building.
Since this is my blog and I’m free to judge all I want, I am going to proclaim that these people are lazy. Too lazy to:
a. put on socks,
b. tie actual shoes,
c. pull on boots or loafers,
d. or possibly all of the above.
For bonus points, the woman in the flip-flops (who does not work for the same company as me) has really ugly feet. Ha!
In spite of how cloudy it is today, the weather’s actually kind of nice…outside. Inside, in my office, the air conditioning is frigid, and I don’t know why. All I know is, a. I’m glad I wore a cardigan today, b. I had to turn my space heater on, and c. I’m glad my space heater didn’t trip the circuits and leave us without power for four hours, as happened over on the other side of this floor last fall.
So yeah, cardigan = good, air conditioning = bad. Except our air conditioning at home, which is awesome, in part because I finally installed some touch-screen, programmable thermostats, and I hope to be reaping the amazing savings (oh! the savings!) for the rest of the year.
Where was I? Oh, right. Cardigan…

It has officially happened: Fall has started. Or, at least, it has started this week. It may change its mind again next week and we’ll have more weather in the 90s. In fact, that’s what usually happens around here. But for now, the weather has cooled considerably. I even turned off the AC and slept with the window open, which was kind of nice.
With Fall comes the switch from my standard summer outfit (jeans, black short-sleeve top, black sandals) to my standard non-summer outfit (jeans, black long-sleeve top, black shoes). I’m so boring that way.
