The wha huh?

So Blizzard is opening The Black Temple in the next big content patch. Today they published an interactive chart that shows attunement paths for all the other BC dungeons (including Mt. Hyjal in CoT, but weirdly Black Temple is NOT included). I spent about 1/2 hour reading and re-reading it, highlighting various paths, and trying to understand it.

I don't get it.

Seriously, if you asked me to explain what needs to happen in order to access the Battle for Mt. Hyjal event - I couldn't. Hell, I can't even really tell you how to get into the Arcatraz. Overall I feel very confused looking at this chart, and it also makes me realize something - I just won't ever finish all these attunements and acquire all these keys. With my limited gaming time, it's never going to happen. NEVER.

I love being a mom and all but damn... I feel old now.

Lady Sylvanas

One of my favorite quests in the expansion is something for lowbie blood elves in the Ghostlands. There's a pendant, which drops kind of randomly off certain mobs, and long story short, you have to take it back to Lady Sylvanas in the Undercity. It belonged to her sister.

Anyway, when you turn it in, she sings a beautiful song about the "Sin'dorei," the blood elves who used to be high elves. I actually recorded the whole thing in Fraps, but I found I don't have to upload it - it's all over YouTube already! Thanks, YouTube. :)

Screenshots from Burning Crusade Closed Beta

Well, the BC beta is now over. The game launches this Tuesday. I doubt I'll have my copy of the game by then, not sure when I will have it actually. But I think the first things I'm going to do, based on my experience in the beta, are:

1. Create a blood elf noob (probably a hunter)
2. Create a draenei shaman
3. Start getting new gear for my 60 priest and working her towards 70

Coming up next, screenshots from the beta. Click on the image for the larger version - warning, some of these are very big.

Some funny dialogue by a few of the NPCs:

My 60 priest in front of the Dark Portal:

The sky in Outland is amazing:

A really beautiful shot in Hellfire Peninsula:

My draenei noob doing the famous quest that lets you ride an epic elephant mount for 15 minute at level 10:

My belf noob sleeping in luxury:

I know this is old news to everyone else, but my hunter was out in the Barrens and went up on the mountain to see that shrine to one of the engineers who passed away while WoW was being developed. It was really pretty awesome:

Back in Outland, a cool shot inside Blood Furnace, one of the new five-man instances:

My first socketed item - a belt that dropped in Blood Furnace:

The socketing interface:

Gems selected for the sockets:

A druid in the new tree form (already live):

My draenei noob disguised as a tree for a quest:

Burning Crusade Beta

I got into the closed beta for the expansion, which will be released on January 16 (or something like that). Whoa, dude...it's pretty phat. There is a HUGE amount of content, almost like too much. It's kind of overwhelming.

I'll post some screenshots this weekend - I've been playing it for about two weeks now, and have tried starting a Blood Elf noob (fun!), Draenei noob (sort of fun!), and copying my existing 60 over to level her to 70 (only 61 so far, but still fun!).

You Are So Dead

After I transferred Betteh to Kael'thas I joined a guild called You Are So Dead. Awesome! A fun bunch of people. In this screenshot, we just killed The Beast in UBRS. Here's another view.

Every now and then, you see something weird in WoW. Like when the big bad dragon is just sort of hanging out in Stormwind Castle. (I especially like the guy bemoaning his inability to turn in a quest.)

I included this screenshot because it shows the amount of crap that generally clutters my screen during a raid. It's a miracle I can see in front of me! However, it usually doesn't matter - as a priest, I'm generally playing what my friends in Guild Wars called "the mini game": watching everyone's health bars, throwing heals and cures as needed, and not really paying attention to the actual creeps. It doesn't sound like fun, but to the right kind of person (me), it's actually pretty rewarding.

Overdue

Wow. It's been forever since I posted on my WoW blog! Well I am playing WoW again. I transferred my one and only level 60 toon, Betteh, to Kael'thas to join some friends. It's lots of fun, I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed WoW. When I was pregnant I kind of stopped playing because it always gave me motion sickness, then when I got really fat it was impossible to hold my laptop anymore!

So Betteh has some phat gear and a super-fast horse now. She just got attuned for Molten Core the other night; looking forward to some raids in there. I'm so far behind the rest of the WoW world! All the hardcore guilds are already raiding Naxxramas, doing Blackwing Lair every night and Ahn'Quiraj 40 every weekend. I'll never get caught up, but at least I'm having fun.

And the expansion comes out next month! God help me resist the damn Collector's Edition.

Reunited, and it feels so....good?

After dallying with City of Heroes and Guild Wars, I'm back on the WoWs. Just haven't been remembering to take screenshots! My priest on Kilrogg hit 60 but I've been working on my other priest, on Lothar, who's up to 41. I also have a new Horde hunter on Kilrogg and a mage on one of the PvP servers. Too many servers to choose from! It's as bad as competing games.

Here's a nice screenshot of the entrance to the Darkmoon Faire. I got my fortune told!

I didn't realize that when people manage to kill Onyxia, her head actually hangs in Stormwind for a while. That's pretty nifty, and here's a screenshot of it.
